About Us

EVENT COORDINATOR

I am a 4th-year pre-med student at the University of Georgia majoring in Biomedical Physiology and Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. I came to UGA from a small town in western Pennsylvania and I have been more than satisfied with the time I have spent here thus far. Along with being the president for BIPH-S, I also tutor at local schools with MathCounts at UGA and I work as a resident assistant in a memory care facility. I hope to one day become an OB/GYN after attending medical school. Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, thrifting, hiking and listening to music.

FOUNDER AND VICE PRESIDENT

I am a 4th-year pre-medicine student at UGA majoring in Biomedical Physiology and Sociology. I am also president of the University Union Student Programming Board, an Operations Coordinator for Kesem UGA. I aspire to be an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, specializing in oncology! I love to bake rather than cooking. My favorite song is currently "Hug Me" by Pharrell Williams and Trey Parker. And I love to go thrift shopping for vintage lamps!

DIRECTOR OF UNDERCLASSMEN OUTREACH

I became a Biomedical Physiology major because I felt like learning more about physiology aligned with what I wanted to do in my future career. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the people in my major in the classes I’ve taken and feel like these people push me to be a better person and student. In my free time I love to hang out with my friends, read, and travel!

EVENT COORDINATOR

I am a fourth-year majoring in Biomedical Physiology with a minor in Exercise and Sports Science. I am a pre-medicine student hoping to pursue a career as a physician in Orthopedics! I am grateful for the Biomedical Physiology Major and all the opportunities it has provided me to grow and learn. I have enjoyed watching the major grow and help so many others. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, and watching movies with my friends!

My name is Parker Merritt. I’m a senior pre dental student. Im double majoring in microbiology and biomedical physiology. I’m from canton, GA and went to creekview high school. I love going backpacking, playing pickleball, and making new friends. I’m a huge college football fan and love watching the Braves! I’m excited to be a part of this organization this year!

DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS

Hi there! I am a 3rd-year pre-medical student majoring in biomedical physiology and nutritional sciences! I aspire to be an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine! I am from Cincinnati, Ohio as a big Bengals and Reds fan and miss my home city! I absolutely love to travel, be outdoors, run, cook, and photography. I hope to live somewhere by the beach practicing medicine! While at UGA I am involved in the Ye Lab, the Catholic Center, AOII, and Mercy Health Center. I am so happy you are here and hope to see you around at our events!

TREASURER

I am a 4th-year pre-medical student from majoring in biology and biomedical physiology. A member of the UGA Women's Lacrosse team, Alpha Phi Sorority, Phi Delta Epsilon medical fraternity, Alpha Epsilon Delta medical honor society, and UGA HEROs. I enjoy going to yoga, attending sporting events, traveling, reading, collecting record albums, going to the beach, lake, and movies, and spending time with friends and family.

Hey BIPH-S! My name is Nicole Zhang and I will be serving as one of your directors of events this year. I am a second year majoring in biomedical physiology and minoring in microbiology. In my free time I like crocheting, discovering new music, and hanging out with friends. I am excited to plan exciting and engaging events for our members this year!

DIRECTOR OF EVENTS

My name is Carla Burroughs. I am a third year pre-med student majoring in biomedical physiology and minoring in Spanish and Biology. I was born and raised in Augusta, GA where I became passionate about expanding quality healthcare services to rural and low income areas. My biggest career aspiration is to work with Doctors Without Borders. In the meantime, I strive to stay connected to my community here and back home through volunteering and mentoring. If you see me around campus, I’m most likely eating or cramming for a chemistry test or both. In my free time, when I can find some, I love to listen to music, go thrifting, and paint/draw.
